Join our Junior Book Club!  We have two books this summer, and both times we meet we will discuss one of the books while we have a little snack, and maybe do an activity or two that fits with the book's theme.

6/25         Katie the Catsitter  (graphic novel)  written by Colleen AF Venable and illustrated by Stephanie Yu.

7/23         Lions & Liars by Kate Beasley.

Free copies of the books are available at the library, while supplies last, and will be yours to keep. We ask that each family only take one copy to keep. If you need additional copies, we can help you borrow them through Evergreen. You do not have to get a free copy of the book to participate.

Also, we want to have a really good conversation about the book so please be sure you've read at least 1/2 of the book before our meeting.  Ideally, you'll have finished the whole thing but we need you to read at least 1/2 by the meeting. Grownups, if you intend to join us, please also join us in reading the book before the meeting.

The July book will first be available at the June meeting.  So when we get together to talk about Katie the Catsitter I'll pass out Lions & Liars  before everyone leaves.

The target audience of all three of these titles fall somewhere in the ages 9-12 range.  We are not putting specified ages on our group.  If you have an 8 year old who can handle these or a 13 year old who enjoys a good adventure story and could really benefit from this program; trust your gut.
